Retired blade runner Rick Deckard is forced back to hunt escaped Nexus-6 replicants.

In dystopian Los Angeles 2019, ex-detective Rick Deckard is compelled by Bryant to return as a blade runner and retire four replicants who escaped an off-world colony. At Tyrell Corporation he meets Rachael, an experimental replicant with implanted memories.

Deckard follows replicant leads while Rachael's belief in her own humanity collapses.

Deckard investigates clues left by Leon and Zhora while navigating a city of surveillance and decay. Rachael discovers her memories are Tyrell fabrications, and she drifts toward Deckard as hunter and hunted begin to mirror each other.

Love, memory, and programming blur as Deckard closes in.

Deckard retires Zhora and Leon in violent encounters, then shelters Rachael. Questions of personhood intensify: what separates a human memory from a manufactured one, and whether empathy can survive in a mechanized world.

Roy Batty confronts Tyrell and spares Deckard in his final moments.

Batty seeks more life from Tyrell, kills him when denied, and later hunts Deckard through a ruined building. At the moment Deckard falls, Batty saves him, then delivers his 'tears in rain' farewell before dying. Deckard leaves with Rachael into an uncertain future.
